The Role

C Engineer:

This is an opportunity to join a world-leading engineering team working on the design and development of new features across Pico’s entire product range. Our Redline Trading Solutions provides ultra-low latency market data and order execution solutions that solve the toughest latency and throughput challenges in today’s equities, options, futures, and foreign exchange markets.

We need brilliant engineers to help bring this technology into new markets and new deployment models. If you want to work with a team of highly-skilled engineers where learning and innovation are everyday activities; if you want to solve the problems encountered when normalizing and analyzing the firehose of data in real time – then Pico is what you are looking for.

Requirements:

1. BSc/MSc in a relevant Engineering discipline (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.)
2. Proficiency in C development under Linux
3. Knowledge of multi-threaded application development
4. Knowledge of IP networking
5. Insatiable appetite for problem-solving and learning about technology
6. Team player - excels in a collaborative environment while using initiative to the team’s benefit
7. Focus on writing maintainable and scalable code
8. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
9. Ability to ask for help, take advice, and incorporate constructive feedback
10. This role is office-based, with a minimum expectation of hybrid office/remote work.
11. 2+ years of experience working in a tech firm, preferably in the financial space.

Experience/Knowledge of the following is desirable:

1. Python programming
2. Java programming
3. Knowledge of financial trading concepts (orders, trades, quotes, etc.) and protocols, including FIX.

Working Arrangements

This is a hybrid position with weekly time in the office. Though travel may be required from time to time, it is not expected to be regular or frequent. The role holder will be expected to work whatever hours are necessary for the performance of this role (recognizing that it involves multiple jurisdictions/geographies including but not limited to EMEA, USA, and APAC).
