Overview

Business Development Manager with Chinese

Role: The China Business Development Manager identifies, engages, and establishes commercial relationships with Marketplace prospects and future merchants, aggregators, partners, and strategic key accounts to onboard onto the Kingfisher banner marketplaces. The role supports growth acceleration for local banners and requires a strong sales appetite, commercial sense, and end-to-end sales experience from lead generation to contract signing, including assisting sellers after go-live. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills are needed to recruit Chinese merchants quickly and effectively.

Role Purpose

The role identifies, engages, and establishes commercial relationships with Marketplace prospects and future merchants, aggregators, partners, and strategic key accounts onboarding onto the Kingfisher banner marketplaces. The role requires a strong sales track record, end-to-end sales funnel management, ability to support sellers post go-live, and capability to drive recruitment of Chinese merchants with robust pipeline tracking and deal execution.

Responsibilities

  • Develop or expand a network of Chinese merchants who sell on B2C marketplaces to attract them to sell on Castorama Poland
  • Use provided leads to contact merchants via email, phone, and WeChat
  • Source additional leads through WeChat, trade shows, and other channels
  • Meet and exceed targets for merchants live on the platform
  • Support onboarding and ongoing operations of marketplace merchants
  • Ensure merchant satisfaction during onboarding
  • Assist merchants with technical settings of their shop
  • Be aware of the commercial and reputational impact of delays on merchants and the business
  • Manage vendor onboarding, IT settings and testing
  • Create and update internal guidance documentation
  • Monitor daily activity of merchants on the Marketplace
  • Identify and resolve merchant issues
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the Marketplace Model
  • Identify recurring issues and propose initiatives to streamline onboarding and improve merchant experience

Qualifications

  • Good communications skills in English, min. B2 level (spoken and written)
  • Fluent written and spoken Chinese
  • Fluency in web and e-commerce terminology
  • Experience with Mirakl, Salesforce or other marketplace platforms
  • Understanding of the marketplace commercial model
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel/CSV
  • Experience in a support- or partner relationship environment
  • Organised and results-oriented
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
