The Role: Business Data Engineer

The Team: CARFAX Europe GmbH provides trusted information that helps millions of people to shop, buy, own and sell used cars with more confidence. Our flagship service is our Vehicle History Report, a curriculum vitae for used vehicles to solve the asymmetric information problem in the used car market. Our customers get access to an extensive multinational database consisting of +27 billion historical records related to over 1 billion cars in +20 countries across Europe and North America. Today, we are a team of 100+ people in six European countries – while retaining a start-up feeling including flat hierarchies and flexible decision-making processes.

We’re looking for a person with the following:

• At least 3 years working experience performing data analytics.
• Advanced experience in writing SQL queries.
• Agile practices: pair programming, TDD, CI/CD, refactoring; breaking abstractions experience is highly appreciated.
• Basic knowledge of Python and common Python libraries for data analysis.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and support skills; you are a strategic thinker.
• A keen eye for quality; detail-oriented working style.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, emphasizing technical writing.

Advantage would be:

• Experience with ML/AI.
• Experience with AWS or other public cloud data processing services is a plus.
• Experience with ETL tools.
• Experience with Airflow.
