Business Continuity Professional

This role is responsible for developing and managing comprehensive emergency, crisis, and recovery programs, including training, plan maintenance, scenario testing, and continuous improvement, while ensuring effective communication with leadership and cross‑functional teams. It also involves providing operational support during incidents, participating in global initiatives, and staying up to date with industry guidelines, all with the flexibility to respond outside normal business hours.

What the day will look like

  • Develop, deliver, and maintain training and awareness programs for emergency, crisis, and recovery teams, enhancing organizational preparedness and response capabilities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of response and recovery plans in alignment with maintenance schedules, documenting progress and compliance through approved program management tools.
  • Design and facilitate geographically specific assessment scenarios and testing exercises to evaluate crisis and emergency response plans, identifying and addressing gaps.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and improve emergency, crisis, and recovery plans by incorporating lessons learned and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate regularly with plan coordinators, owners, and executive leadership, preparing detailed reports and briefings as needed for leadership and risk committees.
  • Actively participate in regional program initiatives and collaborate to support program objectives.
  • Provide operational support during business disruptions or resiliency events, including incident summaries and after‑action reviews in coordination with the Global Emergency Operations Center (GEOC).
  • Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and business continuity, crisis management, and emergency management.
  • Contribute to the deployment and maintenance of global program tools, software, and intranet resources.
  • Flexibility responding to crisis situations outside standard business hours as required.

In this position, you’ll design and deliver emergency preparedness programs, facilitate scenario‑based testing, and deliver real‑time support during real‑world incidents, all while driving continuous improvement and staying ahead of emerging risks.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with a general understanding of data analysis techniques.
  • Experience using Business Continuity Planning software is preferred. High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with mid to upper management (written and oral, presentation and interpersonal skills).
  • Strong understanding of crisis, emergency, resiliency plan development and moderate understanding of testing best practices and processes.
  • Self‑starter who prioritizes tasks to meet project/regional program requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively in a fast‑paced team environment. 3+ years hands‑on experience in business continuity/crisis/emergency management.
  • Experience leading small to medium sized projects. 1+ years of experience facilitating group discussions, training/awareness meetings and exercise scenarios.
  • Experience managing programs in a diverse geography, preferred.
  • Industry recognized certification in Business Continuity, Emergency and Crisis management is preferred but not required.
