The Role

Imperial Brands, an inclusive, innovative global FMCG business supported by 25,000 employees, is looking for a Business Assurance Specialist. This role will be responsible for providing a wide range of assurance activities through executing independent testing of pre-defined control activities or coordinating and reviewing testing performed by others (e.g. local retained testing), and as such this role is key to the Group’s approach to Integrated Assurance.

In addition, this role will support local and cluster management with ensuring the appropriate implementation of the Group’s minimum control requirements to ensure the Group’s internal control framework is appropriately localized, as well as supporting the identification of any locally specific control requirements.

Principle Accountabilities

1. Establish the baseline control scope for retained operations and ensure alignment with the roles requirements.
2. Localize Group policies and standards within retained operations, implement control activities, and maintain related procedures.
3. Maintain the local schedule of authority on behalf of local management.
4. Support the control dispensation process across the operational area.
5. Participate in annual assurance planning and execute the compliance testing program for operations within the roles scope.
6. Perform monitoring control activities, track assurance activities by other providers, and coordinate local assurance activities in OHSE, Third-Party logistics, and Data Privacy.
7. Provide relevant and insightful reporting to internal customers in terms of the level of compliance achieved, remedial actions being put in place, and any mitigation to address identified risk exposures.

Skills & Experience Required

1. Good understanding of accounting principles as well as tax and statutory reporting.
2. Significant experience in internal or external auditing/internal control compliance.
3. Strong organizational skills, ability to follow schedules, and determination to achieve goals.
4. Great logical thinking and analytical and report writing skills to visualize data in insightful ways.
5. Ability to develop broad, cooperative relationships with diverse stakeholders and colleagues, confidence in dealing with others.
6. Genuine passion and enthusiasm for compliance and business assurance activities, positive, proactive, and solution-oriented approach to work.
7. English fluent, both spoken and written.
