Business Analyst – GFS EMEA Direct Tax Delivery Team

Join AstraZeneca’s finance team to support the Global Finance Services (GFS) Tax Delivery Team in Warsaw.

Location: Warsaw

Hybrid Model: 3 days per week from office

Role Profile

As a Business Analyst you will be part of a global team with a regional focus, dedicated to supporting the global Direct Corporate Tax Compliance and Statutory processes.

Key Deliverables

• Plan, prepare, and submit underlying accounting information used to prepare AZ’s corporate tax, statutory and indirect tax returns for multiple markets
• Analyse transactional data using AZ’s data analytics capability, categorise P&L transactions, and identify items with tax sensitivity
• Support Group Tax with information for ad hoc requests, including significant tax transactions or tax audits
• Oversee transactional data collection, coordinate reviews to ensure outputs meet tax and statutory requirements
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly and year‑end tax provision for Group statutory reporting purposes, ensuring controls framework compliance
• Assist in the preparation of AZ’s direct and indirect tax returns
• Manage tax processes, escalates and resolves issues
• Engage with Finance Functions and IT, targeting data and process improvements
• Deliver process excellence, governance and controls
• Support Global Tax and Finance Transformation initiatives
• Work collaboratively with the outsource provider and other Finance stakeholders to deliver local tax requirements

Requirements

A passion for customers, self‑motivation and a commitment to teamwork are key. The role offers an excellent development opportunity within a new team working with bespoke tax processes and supported by dedicated technology.

• 2–5 years of finance experience, including direct taxes or GL area
• Strong accounting skills
• Strong data and analytical skills, and ability to use accounting systems effectively
• Organisational and process management capability with a process‑improvement mindset
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tax compliance events
• Experience working in an international organisation, building relationships remotely and cross‑culturally
• Ability to work well in and across diverse global teams
• English language proficiency, both verbal and written, with confidence to explain financial issues to non‑financial colleagues
• Experience with SAP preferred
