We are looking for a Business Analyst to join the team supporting the Pharma Technical Development (PTD) group and their software solutions. A Business Analyst enables better understanding of scientists needs and translates them into informatics solutions. Candidates should be eager to simplify complex biological knowledge, support researchers, and provide clear requirements for application development.
responsibilities :
Communication, collaboration and support of product development between the business and IT.
Gathering requirements from business stakeholders concerning the functionality and design of the application.
Working with business stakeholders, interpreting and translating their needs into a consistent vision of a product.
Working closely with Product Owner and other analysts to find the optimal solutions and present them to the business stakeholders.
Working closely with the Product Owner to ensure a good understanding of the needs of business stakeholders in a changing scientific landscape.
Translating and simplifying requirements.
Requirements management and communication.
Produce written documentation to support the development team.
Ensuring the project team shares the vision of the product.
Providing business context to the development team and inspiring them to optimize and aim for a better IT product.
IMPORTANT: Serve as a first line of support to the users in the laboratories (due to complexity of the system, bugs reported by users require initial domain triage that is being performed by the business team (especially BA), who understands the workflow of the users and can provide initial workaround, domain guidance to the development team) and set a business priority of such bug.
requirements-expected :
Minimum 5 years of experience in requirements gathering, backlog management, and feature design.
Proven experience taking responsibility for the future development of a specific application.
Educational background or experience in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Protein Science, or related fields.
Fluent written and spoken English, including scientific and IT terminology.
Availability to work in CET and PST time zones (afternoon and evening meetings).
Knowledge of business analysis tools and methods: Jira, Agile, User Stories, User Journeys, User Story Mapping, Domain Driven Design, Design Thinking, MoSCoW prioritization.
Experience with diagramming and visualization tools: LucidChart, LucidSpark.
Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), feature flags, and environment staging.
Ability to facilitate workshops, large group meetings, and sprint planning sessions.
Resilience to stress and ability to work under pressure.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills (diplomatic and assertive).
Self-organized, precise, and reliable.
Ability to present business knowledge clearly and simply to the development team.
Willingness to travel occasionally for business (typically once a year).
