The Business Analyst (BA) role
As a pivotal part of LR’s transformation programme, the BA works as a liaison between stakeholders and the Group Programmes team throughout the change lifecycle. The BA elicits, challenges, analyses, and validates requirements for changes to organisational structures, business processes, policies and information systems. The BA captures, analyzes and identifies pain points and opportunities in the current state through the People, Organisation, Process, Information and Technology lenses, presenting rounded solution options that align with Business Case objectives.
Role Responsibilities
- High‑level overview of the business vision, objectives and how Group Programmes initiatives contribute.
- Define and justify business cases and invitations to tender, eliciting business and functional requirements.
- Identify key stakeholders and SMEs, understand motivations and influence, ensuring perspectives are represented.
- Collaborate with Customer Experience team to capture and assess pain points and opportunities.
- Document ‘as‑is’ analysis and ‘to‑be’ designs, iterating with SMEs and colleagues.
- Facilitate workshops and interviews, maximizing participant time and documenting outcomes.
- Capture & present analysis using functional & non‑functional requirements, process models, customer journeys and data modelling.
- Produce deliverables with precision, using standard templates and establishing terminology.
- Use data to support recommendations and priorities.
- Communicate proactively with PM, flag risks, and reassess BA approach and priorities.
- For technology initiatives, link business users, product teams and third parties throughout development lifecycle.
- Support testing with a business perspective, assisting functional and user acceptance testing.
Qualifications & Experience
- Extensive experience as a Business Analyst in complex commercial/professional services environment, delivering complex global programmes.
- Experience working across multiple business domains (Service Delivery, Finance, Marketing, Customer Service).
- Relevant business analysis qualification (e.g. IIBA or BCS certification).
- Strategic thinker with understanding of business strategic roadmap.
- Systematic, analytical, pragmatic problem‑solving approach, clear documentation of business and functional requirements, and modelling tool expertise (BPMN, customer journey mapping, data modelling).
- Excellent interpersonal skills, adapting communication style for technical and non‑technical audiences, and awareness of cultural differences.
- Experience with Agile & Waterfall delivery methodologies.
- Bachelor degree level or relevant professional qualification.
- Ability to convert complex information into a clear narrative, present options and make recommendations.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Tools – Teams, PowerPoint, Vision, Excel, Word – presenting tailored slideware.
