Battery Safety / EDR Assurance Specialist

• defining the battery assurance roadmap covering functional behaviour, software controls, safety mechanisms, and EDR compliance,
• aligning assurance activities with vehicle defined requirements milestones, regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 26262, UN38.3), and internal quality gates,
• establish KPIs and metrics to track validation coverage, issue closure rates, and safety performance,
• collaborating with BH Strategic Research team to create test plans that combine functional, software, and safety validation across lab, HIL, and vehicle environments,

• ensuring traceability from requirements to test cases and results,
• designing and performing fault injection campaigns to validate battery system responses and safety fallbacks,
• verifying correct operation of contactors, fuses, thermal cutoffs, and software-based protections,
• documenting and escalating any non-compliance or unexpected behaviour,
• managing EDR (Environmental, Durability and Reliability) Data Strategy and Analysis, defining data logging requirements for battery events (e.g., overvoltage, crash, thermal excursions),
• coordinate with software teams to ensure correct data capture, timestamping, and storage,
• analysing post-event logs to reconstruct incident timelines and support root cause investigations,
• using tools like CANalyzer, MATLAB, JIRA to analyse logs and track issues,
• ensuring closed-loop feedback from field incidents and warranty data into future validation cycles,
• maintaining validation documentation, including test reports, safety assessments, and traceability matrices,
• supporting internal and external audits by demonstrating compliance with safety and quality standards.
