This position is based at our Luxembourg headquarters and requires regular office presence. The EIB, the European Unions bank, is seeking to recruit for its Legal Directorate (JU) – EU Operations Department (OPS-EU) – Central Europe Division (CE) – Southern Central Europe Unit (SCE) at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a Banking and Finance Lawyer – specialized in Hungarian Law for a full‑time temporary position at grade 5 with a potential permanent contract. The Southern and Central Europe (SCE) Unit of the Central Europe Division is part of the EIB Legal Department and plays a crucial role in providing legal advice on lending operations. The Unit works closely with member states, local municipalities, banks, corporate organisations and other eligible sectors. Its expertise covers secured and non‑secured transactions, structured finance, asset finance, and all other lending operations in seven countries: Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Croatia.
As a Banking and Finance Lawyer, you will provide legal advice on lending operations, primarily for EIB projects in Hungary but also across other SCE jurisdictions.
You will report to the Head of Unit and collaborate with lawyers from the SCE Unit and the Legal Directorate, as well as colleagues from Operations, Projects Directorate, Portfolio Management and Monitoring. External counterparts will include legal counsels, borrowers, guarantors, and other stakeholders.
