We’re looking for a PHP Backend Developer to join a Swiss IT company that creates and grows digital products as a long-term partner, not a vendor. The company develops and maintains complex platforms across aviation, finance, B2B commerce, and recruitment, with all engineering done internally to ensure clear ownership, fast feedback, and high technical quality.
responsibilities :
Participate in architectural discussions and decisions together with the team
Write, adapt, and maintain backend code using appropriate technologies and frameworks
Develop automated tests and follow TDD practices
Improve and optimize interactions with databases
Build and maintain system components using RabbitMQ
Configure and maintain full-text search solutions
Configure Linux virtual servers and diagnose production issues
Participate in code reviews and maintain code quality using GitLab
Create and maintain clear and up-to-date API documentation
Collaborate closely with frontend developers to find optimal technical solutions
requirements-expected :
Minimum 3 years of commercial experience with PHP
Experience with Symfony, Slim, or other PHP frameworks
At least 3 years of experience working with Linux environments
Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
Experience with message brokers (RabbitMQ or similar)
Understanding of backend architecture and system integration
Experience working with Git and participating in code reviews (GitLab preferred)
English proficiency sufficient for daily communication with colleagues and project managers
