As a Lead Azure Databricks Developer, you will play a central role in defining and implementing scalable solutions for our business areas, helping us extend our existing platform into the Azure environment. You’ll be working closely with our colleagues in the Development organisation to implement a new Azure Databricks data platform where the focus is both, developing, operating and scaling the platform for wide usage. You will be part of the core platform team anchored in our Development organisation.
responsibilities :
Working closely with stakeholders to implement Azure Databricks in a scalable way
Update terraform modules to increase security, reliability and useability.
Partner with down-stream teams for success, decreasing lead time for their use of the platform
Configure Databricks to ensure it is fit for purpose for the engineering teams
Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
Using behaviour-driven design principles to ensure a common understanding between stakeholders and developers on quality, security, and compliance.
Ensuring that the platform is continuously improving in code, security, and reliability. These improvements should be spread across the teams you interact with, so that you lift the bar of our standards.
Actively driving the development and integration other cloud solutions and software products, with minimal guidance.
requirements-expected :
Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, software development or a related field, with at least 5 years’ experience working with Azure cloud tools.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and working with modern build, test and deployment tools, ideally in large organisations as an internal colleague or consultant.
An understanding of infrastructure automation and infrastructure as code. Experience working with Terraform or other IaC tools.
Strong programming skills with Python and at least one other language. Experience writing and refactoring code.
Experience implementing Azure Databricks in a large organisation.
The ability to understand complex technical matters, form an educated opinion, and communicate with impact to a variety of stakeholders with different levels of technical expertise.
Experience working in a regulated industry, or a desire to understand the complexity this brings.
