Our ideal candidate has:
- Professional Experience: 8+ years in IT, with extensive hands-on experience building modern cloud data platforms and infrastructure
- Cloud Expertise (Azure): Deep knowledge of the Azure ecosystem (Azure Data Lake Storage, KeyVault, Azure Monitor, Networking)
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Advanced proficiency with Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud resources
- Containerisation & Orchestration: Strong practical experience with Docker and AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service). You know how to efficiently deploy and manage workloads in production
- CI/CD & DevSecOps: Mastery of Azure DevOps (pipelines, releases). You understand how to integrate security scanning, policies and compliance into the lifecycle (DevSecOps)
- Programming: proficiency in Python for scripting, automation and glue code
- Data Engineering Stack: Experience with modern data processing and orchestration tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Fabric or Airflow)
- Testing: A mindset for quality—writing automated infrastructure tests and data quality checks.
What sets you apart (we’d consider any of these as a big plus):
- AI/ML Infrastructure: Experience setting up infrastructure for Azure ML, MLOps practices, or deploying models on AKS
- GenAI & LLMs: Familiarity with Large Language Models (OpenAI/Azure OpenAI), Vector Databases or RAG architectures
- Certifications: Active Azure certifications (e.g., Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Data Engineer Associate)
- Consultancy experience: Previous experience gained in mid-size/large international client-facing environments
- “Hold my beer – I got this” attitude
- Insight Geek that needs constant feeding
- Strong communication skills and fluent English.
