About the project

Data Controls and Innovation is a key capability of supporting CIB Data and Analytics within HSBCs Data and Analytics function. Its mission is to revolutionize the governance, management, and utilization of data to maximize its potential across the organization

As part of the CIB Data Refinery efforts, Data Analytics is developing innovative data assets designed to support HSBC at the Group level. These assets include the creation of a comprehensive Data Lake tailored for Global and Commercial Banking, as well as a unified virtual pool that consolidates client, transaction, product, instrument, pricing, and portfolio data.

Your responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and business analysts, to identify opportunities for AI integration
  • Look into extraction of unstructured data across a wide range of use cases using ontologies and developing standardisation across these ontologies where possible
  • Design, develop, and deploy Generative AI solutions and applications ensuring seamless integration between front-end interfaces and back-end AI systems.
  • Conduct research on the latest advancements in generative AI and machine learning and apply findings to enhance existing systems and processes.
  • Implement RAG techniques to enhance AI-generated outputs by accessing and retrieving relevant external data sources.
  • Build and maintain scalable AI infrastructure and pipelines for data processing and model training.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of AI models, making necessary adjustments to optimize outcomes

Our requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Javascript or similar languages.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficient in leveraging frameworks like Langchain/LangGraph/AgnoAI/PhiData/Spring AI for complex AI workflow development and orchestration. Experience in using Langflow to design and visualize these workflows. This includes integrating AI models effectively to ensure seamless operation and optimization.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with DevOps practices and building CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in working with both SQL and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Fluent in English communications with global team. Knowledge on metadata management, data catalogues, data governance etc. Familiarity with DevOps methology.
