The Financial Crime (FC) Data Platforms team’s role is to manage data products, processes and applications on the Compliance/FC Data Lakes and Cloud Environments and define the strategy for their future evolution. This encompasses the end-to-end design, modelling and delivery of enhanced datasets to optimise the performance of our crime detection models and yield the greatest possible insight for all users, including FC Analyst, Investigator, Data Scientist and MI communities, many of whom we collaborate with closely. The team is also responsible for regulating the data environment, including platform architecture, management and configuration, security and data quality.
The Data Analyst role within Data Platforms will be responsible for the design of data driven capabilities and data assets needed to support anti-financial crime operations and provide actionable intelligence on potential financial crime risks to senior managers within the business. The role holder will also perform exploratory analytics across a range of data available to understand how it can be used for these purposes. Working closely with other product owners and data analysts in the team as well as our stakeholders and developers, the Data Analyst will build and use their understanding of the financial crime domain and data landscape to achieve these objectives.

Manage and evaluate the change impact assessments of proposed requirements.
Understand and challenge the implications of change such as dependencies, feasibility, scope, outputs, and process.
Work with the Product Owner to manage, define and track performance measures. Supports and guides the Product Owner to create/evolve Product roadmap, creation of epics and writing of user stories and managing the product backlog.
Helping define and track metrics and Key Performance Indicators for the product.
Broad understanding of portfolio of design projects.
Broad understanding of technical tools may be required dependent on the scope of the Agile Team.
Provide extended expertise in process and is considered an authority on data and how to use it to further the Value Stream business objectives.
Broad understanding of risk exposure to the bank and helping senior colleagues manage it.
requirements-expected :
Knowledge and experience analysing large and complex datasets to yield actionable technical and business insight.
Experience with Hadoop and/or Cloud Technologies (ideally GCP) and a willingness to build knowledge in these areas quickly.
Fluency in SQL for data analysis/analytics with experience designing more advanced queries.
Expertise in python or other scripting languages desirable. Learning and using python (or alternative languages in future) for data analysis/analytics purposes is a requirement of the role.
Working knowledge and familiarity with financial services organisations and typical customer products.
Familiarity with data security, privacy and access considerations when dealing with sensitive data from multiple jurisdictions.
Previous experience working in a financial (or wider) crime domain desirable.
