Automation Development
- Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts and tools to manage IaC (Infrastructure as Code).
- Leverage tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or relevant for provisioning and configuration management.
- Scripting in Python, Bash, or other relevant languages for custom automation tasks.
- Automate deployment of VMs, containers, and other relevant components across our Infrastructure platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, and On-Prem).
- Monitor and Performance: Develop automated solutions for system monitoring and alerts, including performance tuning.
Infrastructure Management
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines to support application and infrastructure deployments.
- Analyze and diagnose technical issues, identifying root causes and propose solutions to Problem management.
- Technical Support: Provide advanced technical support to resolve automation-related issues and minimize downtime.
- Logging: Implement tools supporting logging and observability ensuring system reliability and scalability.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of the infrastructure setup, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams, including 3rd Line Support and external vendors, to both ensure and drive Stenas automation agenda across relevant Service areas.
- Hybrid environment: Be able to work in both our Cloud (Servers, Azure technologies, etc.) and On-Prem environment (e.g., Exchange, Servers, etc.).
- Capacity Planning: Assess and plan for future Automation needs based on the organizations infrastructure growth and technological advancements.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement within support processes and implement changes to enhance service delivery.
- System Upgrades: Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of system upgrades and updates to maintain cutting-edge technology within the organization.
Security & Compliance
- Automate security patching, vulnerability management, and compliance reporting.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of security trends, threats, and technologies related to our environment.
- Implement robust security measures and guardrails with best practices in mind.
Collaboration & Support
- Work with other IT colleagues with dependencies from our Microsoft environment, including business units to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Provide training and support to Service Desk on common practices and tools, as part of Stenas Shift-Left strategy.
Relationship Management
- Extensive interaction and/or collaboration with IT professionals such as Network Engineers, Security & Control Engineers, and Architects is required.
- If needed, interact with middle management for communication of technical issues and/or planning and strategy discussion.
- Customer interaction to assist in determination of best solution technologies and implementations for e.g., Business projects.
Education / Certification:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
Experience:
- 5 or more years in IT and Systems engineering or systems administration.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills - fluent English is required.
- Proven experience in infrastructure automation.
- Strong knowledge of automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, etc.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages like Python, Shell/Bash, or PowerShell.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms: AWS/Azure.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Openshift and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
- Knowledge of networking, storage, and server architecture.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Grafana).
- Familiarity with service mesh tools (e.g., Istio) and API gateways.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC2, ISO 27001) and tools for enforcing compliance.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and working in a collaborative environment.
