Automation Engineer

As an Automation Engineer for Commissioning and Service Desk, you will support our technicians in commissioning the correct functioning of upgrades and conversions. You will do this either on site at the customer39s premises or remotely. In addition, you will support customers at the service desk and thus make a significant contribution to customer satisfaction. Through extensive training in our training centre, as well as regular training courses for new machines and services, you will represent the Company as a competent contact person on site at our customers39 premises or by telephone. As a result, you will play a key role in customer loyalty and the smooth running of our customers39 processes, ensuring our high-quality standards and competitiveness in the long term.
 Tasks:

• Carrying out international service assignments for software commissioning on our packaging machines
• Remote support for our customers and service technicians during troubleshooting or conversions
• Troubleshooting of machine malfunctions with measuring equipment and software tools
• Service desk in 2nd support, sometimes also in shifts

Requirements:

• Experience in programming, commissioning and maintenance of machines in mechanical and plant engineering industry both at home and abroad
• Good knowledge of PLC, servo and HMI controls, ideally programmed according to IEC61131-3 on Codesys platform
• Knowledge of troubleshooting field busses and networks
• Good knowledge of technical English (knowledge of German may be a plus)
• Bachelor39s or Master39s degree in electrical engineering, automation technology or mechatronics. 
• Nice to have: vocational training as a mechatronics technician, electronics technician or in mechanical engineering. 
• Willingness to travel internationally around 50%
  
  Additional information:

Training classes on machine and packaging process (Germany), training on the job on rebuilding machines in Germany, training classes for software tools (Schneider Electric Machine Expert), training on electrical safety. Individual training schedules will be developed based on the applicants39 experience and needs.
