Job Summary

Supporting the Operational & Credit Risk Function at SCB AG in the effective management and execution of Governance, Monitoring, Reporting as well as Data Quality and Process Management related items.

In this regard, the role will have responsibility for supporting the mentioned risk functions in meeting related requirements, optimizing processes and timely completion of related activities through initiating and follow up with related stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as second line Operational / Credit Risk Framework Owner for business and functional activities or processes performed in the country.
  • Actively collaborate and work with necessary stakeholders to perform the job role and to establish standards/best practise.
  • Collaborate across the Bank´s key stakeholders to assist in the optimization and execution of the Operational Risk Type Framework.
  • Undertake defined internal control effectiveness reviews, document, and report the outcome in line with provided requirements.
  • Actively support the effective management of non-financial risks through adherence to the Operational & Technology Risk Governance papers ( e.g., OR Type Framework and Operational Risk Management Standards ).
  • Review Operational Risk ("OR") appetite on monthly basis ensuring timely and accurate reporting to Country committees. Follow up to obtain more information on underlying data as required and ensure capture if breaches within the OR system in accordance with OR requirements.
  • Perform Risk Control Monitoring of processes owned by the Operational Risk Function, incl. documentation and reporting.
  • Review/collate monthly Management Information ("MI") for distribution to OR (Overdue Monitors; Overdue RRA; Non timely capture/approval of Risk Events and MREs; Overdue Issues, incl. quarterly loss validation reporting.
  • Perform, oversee completeness of monthly submissions for General Ledger / M7 recon and report outcome.
  • Review Group Operational Risk reporting, e.g. for Route Cause Review ("RCR"), Elevated Residual Risk ("ERR") and Risk Acceptance impacting SCB AG and follow up on treatment plans approaching due date and overdue.
  • Maintain and update Country Obligations Tracker for OpsRisk Function and inform about changes.
  • Assist the annual review process for credit related risks.
  • Support with regular update of SLA main document and support documents when due (such as TPCP, Exit Plan, seeking Service providers BCP, etc.).

    Skills and experience

    • Understanding, experience, and knowledge in a similar/other role, including demonstrated track record.
    • Regulatory Framework and Requirements: Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the firm operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the Risk function.
    • Clear understanding of the Banks approach to the management of non-financial risks or equivalent experience gained in other organizations.
    • Ability to leverage resources across the organizations to complete deliverables.
    • Sound judgment & courage necessary to perform a control role and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Ability to assess risks and set proper priorities, excellent interpersonal skills and multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity.
    • Demonstrated track record of experience in governance and Risk Management is of advantage.
    • Successful relationship management experience.
    • Good planning, organisational and attention to details skills, good interpersonal and communication capabilities, having a positive attitude to all work, and also being able to respond to request.
    • German language knowledge is required, but not mandatory.
    • Good understanding of processes in banks and of related operational risks.
    • Good understanding of regulatory environment.
    • Experience in banking is appreciated.
