Position Overview
The Associate Director, Software & Platforms, Poland will own Exact Sciences core International IT order-to-cash technology stack and lead development of new software to meet the requirements of critical International business processes.
The holder of this role is expected to be a strong and trusted partner for colleagues in Exact Sciences’ IT as well as for wider business functions. The role’s holder will be a key technology leader in driving, designing, and implementing business facing software development projects, and will be expected to take responsibility for coaching, mentoring, and leading a dedicated International software engineering team based in Europe.
The place of work is Warsaw, Poland.
Essential Duties
Include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Manage enhancements of business systems and drive operational efficiencies across processes and technology that support the business operations and strategic company projects.
- Develop strategy and positioning for the O-US SalesForce (SFDC) platform and related applications. Evaluate business needs against platform functionality and serve as the software SME in International.
- Lead and manage SFDC engineers as well as a team of scrum masters, developers and release engineers in the development and maintenance of software products for the business.
- Supervise staff; including, but not limited to, organize, and prioritize work, write/conduct performance reviews, train/develop, and manage quality delivered.
- Review, scope, plan, and direct the execution of a broad range of (often interconnected) technical projects. Establish and manage priorities and implementation schedules for the same.
- Oversee project execution and actively manage the software project portfolio.
- Drive solutioning and tough decision making, balancing business goals, technical implications, budgets and timelines. Work with other IT teams to refine and prioritize features and requirements.
- Work with disparate IT teams to integrate SFDC platform/data with other platforms/data warehouses as required to support the business’s initiatives. Ensure data security meets company standards.
- Maintain working knowledge of business-specific dashboards, reports, forms, templates, custom objects, object relationships, fields, and layouts across systems owned.
- Ensure good system administration and support (working with other IT teams to maintain user roles, security settings, profiles, work-flow rules, data integrity etc.) in line with defined SLAs.
- Lead and coordinate the development and maintenance of technical documentation.
- Develop and maintain healthy vendor relationships with SFDC account representatives and other relevant software vendor teams (i.e. Mulesoft, Apttus/Conga, Tableau etc.).
- Contribute to design, usability, code reviews to ensure alignment with business and IT stakeholders.

- Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
- Ability to travel to other Exact Sciences locations, as necessary.
- Ability to travel 10% of working time away from work location (include overnight/weekend travel).
Minimum Qualifications
- Fluency in the English language (C1 or above per CEFR framework) and ability to communicate in English on technical topics relating to the software development process.
- Bachelor’s Degree in field as outlined in the essential duties; or completed vocational education (EFZ) and 8+ years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of a bachelor’s Degree.
- 8+ years of experience as outlined in the essential duties.
- 5+ years of direct management experience in coordinating software development resources.
- Demonstrated progressive achievement and growth in IT and business domains.
- Proven successful project delivery involving complex business workflows or system architectures.
- Ability to easily grasp business needs and requirements.
- Strong working knowledge of SDLC project management methodologies and/or ITIL knowledge.
- Professional working knowledge of a variety of software and hardware solutions, multi-vendor environments, and hybrid environment of on premise, co-located, and cloud-based services.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of and/or certification in SalesForce.com (SFDC).
- Experience of working with Java-based web applications.
- Experience in working in a regulated environment (e.g. GDPR, SOX, HIPAA, CLIA, GCP, and FDA).
- Experience in molecular biology, genomics, translational science, and/or personalized medicine.
- Knowledge of other languages (French, German, Italian, Polish, Spanish) and/or Japanese.
