Overview
Associate Director, Clinical Trial Lead (all genders) – Merck Healthcare. This role is pivotal in leading high-impact, global Phase III and registrational clinical trials. You will drive operational excellence, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration across international teams to ensure trials are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex, global clinical trials (Phase III and registrational) with accountability for timeline, budget, and quality.
- Serve as the primary operational contact for the Global Development Operations (GDO) in global trial teams; provide input on protocols, informed consent forms (ICFs), and clinical study reports (CSRs).
- Oversee contract research organizations (CROs) and vendors to ensure compliance with corporate standards.
- Lead training initiatives, contribute to department-wide process improvements, and ensure trials are inspection-ready.
- Manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) and mentor junior staff to foster talent development.
Who You Are / Qualifications
- Advanced degree preferred (MPH, MS, MA, MBA, PharmD); PM certification (CPM, PMP) desirable.
- Minimum 10 years of clinical research experience, with at least 7 years in clinical trial management.
- Proven leadership in managing global trials and cross-functional teams.
- Strong project management, strategic thinking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent communication and critical thinking abilities.
- Experience in therapeutic areas and drug development processes.
