The Franciszek Górski Institute of Plant Physiology (IPP PAS, https://en.ifr-pan.edu.pl) is a scientific institution of the Second Division of Biological and Agricultural Sciences (https://institution.pan.pl/index.php/institution/institutes/48-division…) of the Polish Academy of Sciences, specializing in basic and applied plant physiology. The main research interest of the Institute is ecophysiological factors influencing plant productivity. Research is mainly conducted on crop plants, but some experiments are also carried out on selected model plants and photosynthetic microorganisms such as algae and cyanobacteria. The Institute consists of 5 working groups, known as departments: the Department of Developmental Biology, the Department of Stress Biology, the Department of Cell Biology, the Department of Ecophysiology, the Department of Biotechnology, and the Joint Laboratory of Enzymatic Biotechnology and Catalysis. The Institute’s scientists have built up an extensive co‑operation network at local and international level. It also co‑operates with breeding stations throughout Poland.
