COMPETITION OPENING DATE DECEMBER 4, 2025
The planned employment will be realized within the project “Modeling of optically excited states in periodic and molecular systems with the self-consistent Greens function methods” financed by the NAWA Returns grant awarded by Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) of which Dominika Zgid is the Principal Investigator. The planned employment period is for 24 months.
The goal of the NAWA Returns project “Modeling of optically excited states in periodic and molecular systems with the self-consistent Greens function methods” (Principal Investigator: Dominika Zgid) is tosubstantially improve the modeling of neutral electronic excitations in materials and molecules with correlated electrons by refining new ab initio Green’s function methodologies that overcome the limitations of existing computational tools. By leveraging the latest advances in applied mathematics within Greens function formalism, this project will develop next‑generation computational tools capable of precise and efficient prediction of optical excitation spectra and thermodynamic properties. The expected outcomes include the creation of a Green’s function formalism suitable for routine calculations and amenable to systematic improvements. This formalism will be used to predict spectra and will be made publicly available as a computational code for neutral excited states in solids and molecules.
The candidate is expected to have expertise in the development of theoretical or numerical methods for solid‑state physics or theoretical chemistry. We also expect experience in programming, motivation and independence in solving scientific problems.
The candidates have to conform to the conditions stated in art. 113 of Higher Education Law dated 20.07.2018. (Journal of Laws of the Republic of Poland 2024, item 1571 with further amendments).
