Offer Description
The selected candidate will teach courses at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Warsaw as an assistant professor with a total teaching load of 360 hours a year, including classes for 1st and 2nd degree students, BA seminars, MA seminars and/or specialist classes. The selected candidate is expected to teach courses on topics in the field of quantitative finance, machine learning and data science. Courses should be offered in Polish and/or English.
Academic organizational activities, including: involvement in the work of selected university and departmental committees; guidance and involvement in the research of junior university staff; and contribution to international scholarly endeavours (editorial and review work, conferences, etc.).

Requirements

Skills/Qualifications
- at least a PhD (M/F) degree in the discipline of economics and finance;
- experience in independently conducting classes for a period of not less than five years;
- high teaching skills, confirmed in particular by the results of student surveys or distinctions and awards for teaching activities.
Specific Requirements
- ability to conduct classes in economics and finance, particularly in the area of quantitative finance and machine learning;
- teaching experience in conducting classes with students (preferably experience in conducting classes on quantitative finance and machine learning);
- knowledge of English at a level sufficient to conduct classes for first- and second-cycle students;
- very good knowledge of R and Python programming languages in the areas of algorithmic trading and modelling of market risk;
experience in creating or co-creating and implementing national and international teaching projects; - experience in organizing and participating in teaching conferences;
- activity in national and international accreditation institutions, organizations, and institutions working for the development of academic teaching;
- other specific achievements (e.g., awards, scholarships).

- Teaching experience
- variety of subjects taught ( including in English);
- awards and honors for teaching activities;
- experience in supervising students preparing theses;
- participation in teaching trainings.
- Experience in organizational activities related to teaching.
