Cracow University of Technology in Krakow ANNOUNCES A COMPETITION FOR THE POSITION OF ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (F/M) IN THE GROUP OF RESEARCH AND TEACHING STAFF in the Department of Materials Engineering (I-1) at the Faculty of Materials Engineering and Physics

Researcher Profile: R2 Recognised Researcher

  • Fluent spoken and written Polish
  • Documented knowledge of English, at least at B2 level
  • Research skills in the design and characterization of biomaterials, interdisciplinary research methods combining chemistry, nanotechnology, and materials science
  • Documented scientific achievements, including publications in highly ranked scientific journals (according to the MEiN list) and an H-index of at least 10.
  • Completion of the course "Pedagogical preparation for academic teachers and doctoral students" (or equivalent) confirming teaching qualifications to conduct classes with students.
  • Experience in implementing or co-implementing national or international research projects/grants.
  • Experience in working with students, e.g., as a supervisor of a research club or student projects.
  • Participation in national and international scientific conferences.
  • Additional requirements:

Experience in operating specialized measuring equipment and software dedicated to its operation, including:

  • Dispersion and emulsion stability analyzer — MultiScan
  • Spin coater for applying thin layers
  • UV–Vis spectrophotometer
  • FT-IR infrared spectrometer
  • Goniometer for measuring the wetting angle
  • Rotational viscometer
  • 3D printer for basic prototype printing – Anycubic Photon Mono
  • Active substance release testing device – Inspire 8 Basic

Scope of tasks performed / Job description (responsibilities and entitlements)

  • Conducting classes and consultations with students in accordance with the CUT Work Regulations
  • Active participation in the scientific work of the unit
  • Organizational work of the unit
  • Other work assigned by the immediate supervisor
  • Description of working conditions, we offer, among other things:

      • Fixed components of remuneration in the amount of:
        • Base salary ranging from 6845,00 zł (PLN) to 7000,00 zł (PLN)
        • Seniority allowance depending on length of service, i.e., from 3% to 20% of base salary
      • Variable remuneration components specified in the CUT Employee Remuneration Regulations

Employment will take place after a competitive selection process in accordance with Chapter VI. Stages of the recruitment process, OTM‑R policy consisting of:

  • Analysis of the submitted documentation
  • Conducting interviews (face‑to‑face or via instant messaging software)
  • Conducting tests/exams to assess skills

Cracow University of Technology reserves the right to cancel the competition without stating reasons.

The result of the competition is not tantamount to the employment of the candidate (F/M), but is only a recommendation to the Rector. The final employment decision rests with the Rector.
