We are looking for a candidate to conduct research and teach at the Department of Mathematical Methods in Physics within the profile of the department, i.e. in mathematical physics, mathematical methods of physics, and mathematicsrelated to description of physical phenomena. In particular subjects such as the theory of group representations, algebras of operators on Hilbert spaces, mathematical methods of quantum field theory, non-commutative mathematical structures such as e.g. quantum groups, classical field theory, differential geometry.
We offer the position of assistant professor (adiunkt) with responsibilities that include research and teaching.
The requirements:
The candidates have to conform to the conditions stated in art. 113 of Higher Education Law dated 20.07.2018 (Journal of Laws of the Republic of Poland 2022, item 574). In particular, we are looking for a candidate with a doctoral degree in physical sciences or in mathematics, with at least two years of experience in conducting scientific research, confirmed by publications in at least one of the above-mentioned fields. Previous experience in teaching at a university level is mandatory. The successful candidate is expected to be active in the field of mathematical physics or mathematics.
Key responsibilities:
A person employed as an assistant professor will conduct research in the Department of Mathematical Methods in Physics. The candidates are expected to commit to teaching duties both on the undergraduate and graduate level at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw, according to courses offered by the Department. The number of teaching hours is 210 per academic year. We expect involvement in
conducting didactic courses and care to uphold high level of teaching and introduce elements of current research into teaching as well as participation in seminars organized at the Department of Mathematical Methods in Physics.

Eligibility criteria
Candidates will be selected by a Committee appointed by the Dean of the Faculty of Physics. The decision will be made based on:
1) Scientific achievements including publications in renowned scientific journals
2) Distinctions resulting from scientific research, such as scholarships, awards, and research experience gained outside the home institution, as well as participation in scientific workshops, training, and research projects
3) Teaching experience
