Offer Description

We seek a scientist with a recognized research record and an innovative research plan in theoretical physics that is complementary to the research conducted in the Institute of Theoretical Physics.

  • We expect that the candidate will be active in research in the field of theoretical physics and effective in obtaining external funding.
  • The successful candidate will teach classes at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw in accordance with the position of assistant professor, amounting to 210 hours per year. We expect commitment to teaching, including constant concern for improving the quality of classes and ensuring that teaching is linked to the latest research results.
  • Performing administrative and organizational tasks related to the University-s activities
  • We require candidates to have proven competence in conducting research in theoretical physics, documented by publications in reputable scientific journals. We expect innovative research plans that complement the research conducted at the Institute of Theoretical Physics.
  • A prerequisite for entering the competition is a doctoral degree in theoretical physics.
  • Candidates are required to have at least one year of employment in a research or research and teaching position at a foreign institution after obtaining their doctoral degree. Teaching experience at the university level is also required.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who obtained their doctoral degree no earlier than 10 years ago.
  • For candidates from abroad, we expect proficiency in Polish at a level sufficient to conduct teaching, administrative, and organizational work.
  • We expect candidates to be highly independent in their work and to have a creative approach to research and teaching
