COMPETITION OPENING DATE DECEMBER 5, 2025
As part of the ERC Advanced Quantum Algorithms, several postdoc positions in the Gull group at the University of Warsaw are available. The candidates will perform research on numerical algorithms for quantum systems, including quantum impurities and real materials systems. The focus of the positions lies on the solution of strongly correlated quantum systems. Positions are at the level of Adjunct.

Skills/Qualifications
Applicants are required to have a PhD in physics, scientific computing, applied mathematics, or similar areas. Successful candidates are expected to have a PhD and rigorous training in one or more of the following fields: Analytical condensed matter theory, computational condensed matter theory, many-body theory, high-performance computing, electronic structure methods development, algorithm development, or finite-temperature field theories. Exposure to topics such as dynamical mean field theory, embedding theories, quantum Monte Carlo methods, tensor train methods, and/or C++/CUDA programming and a solid foundation in code development is especially welcome.

The work will be carried out at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw under the supervision of Prof. Emanuel Gull. The position is at the level of 100% for an initial period of 12 months, with the possibility of extension for up to 43 months.
1. PhD degree in physics or related field.
2. Interest in the subject, motivation for scientific work.
3. Knowledge of quantum mechanics and condensed matter as well as experience in programming.

The entire procedure will be concluded before February 15, 2025. Candidates may be asked for an interview with the commission appointed by the Dean of the Faculty.
