Offer Description

The person employed in this position will be responsible for conducting various forms of teaching (in Polish and English) in the following study programmes: Environmental Engineering, Circular Economy and Climate Protection, Environmental Protection Technologies, Climate Neutrality, EQM, and Bioeconomy, within the scope of air and climate protection. Person will also conduct scientific research in the field of engineering and technical sciences, within the discipline of Environmental Engineering, Mining and Energy, related to climate protection—particularly in the search for low- and zero-emission solutions, including air protection methods covering measurements, modelling of dispersion, and mitigation of air pollutant emissions, as well as environmental protection including microbiology and ecotoxicology in the context of atmospheric air quality and other environmental components.

Responsibilities:

  • Educating and fostering the development of students,
  • Organising and conducting research work within the discipline of Environmental Engineering, Mining and Energy, including measurement techniques, modelling and mitigation of pollution, as well as environmental protection, including microbiology and ecotoxicology in the context of air quality and other environmental components,
  • Conducting teaching activities in English and Polish, including courses related to: air chemistry and protection, identification and spatial analysis of air pollution data, air emission management, and process engineering,
  • Carrying out activities related to the preparation of project and grant applications,
  • Creating teaching materials in the field of environmental protection technologies,
  • Active participation in the organizational activities of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and the Department of Environmental Biology and Air Protection.

Skills/Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Completed Master’s studies in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Protection, or related fields,
  • PhD degree in the discipline of Environmental Engineering or Environmental Engineering, Mining and Energy,
  • Experience in delivering various forms of teaching in Environmental Engineering and Protection, including calculation-based and laboratory classes,
  • Documented scientific achievements in the discipline of Environmental Engineering, Mining and Energy, particularly in environmental protection technologies, circular economy, and climate change mitigation (publications in IF, LF, MEiN lists, others),
  • Experience working in teams conducting research in environmental protection technologies, circular economy, and climate change mitigation,
  • Documented participation in R&D projects,
  • Willingness to conduct scientific research and to participate in conferences and publish results in national and international journals,
  • Experience in preparing grant proposals,
  • Experience in science popularisation activities,
  • Experience in projects carried out in cooperation with other institutions (universities, companies),
  • Completion of at least one scientific internship,
  • Completion of at least one teaching internship,
  • Willingness to conduct scientific research,
  • Willingness to engage in the development of the research team,
  • Predisposition for teaching and student-friendly attitude,
  • Proficiency in Polish enabling teaching activities,
  • Proficiency in English enabling scientific activities,
  • proficiency in Mendeley software, Atlassian tools, SCADA systems, and scientific databases (Scopus, Web of Science),
  • Engagement and ability to work in a team,
  • Category B driving licence.

Declaration of the candidate that in the case of winning the competition, Wrocław University of Science and Technology will be the primary place of employment * (app. z3d_PL or z3d1-ENG)

If a competition is won by a person who is employed under an employment relationship with another employer conducting the following activities: research, research and teaching, research and development, implementation (except for cases specified in Article 125(3) of the Act), and the employment is not expired by the date of employment at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology as the primary place of work, this person, in accordance with art. 125 sec. 1 of the Act, taking into account art. 125 sec. 2 of the Act, is obliged to obtain the Rectors consent for additional employment under an employment relationship with another employer after employing at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. If the competition is won by a person who conducts business activity, the requirement of art. 125 sec. 7 of the Act should be met.

The date of receipt of the documents is decisive. The date of receipt of application documents is considered to be 3:00PM on the day indicated in the information about the competition. Candidates applications will be evaluated by the Competition Committee appointed by the Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering. After the competition procedure is closed, the applications of persons who have not been accepted for work will be returned, provided that they were sent by traditional mail. People interested in having their documents back will be able to pick them up from the HR assistant within 6 months after the competition procedure is closed, against acknowledgment of receipt.
