Offer Description

We are looking for a candidate for the position of assistant professor in the Environmental Design Team. The candidate should teach the principles and technologies of sustainable and circular design. This position will focus on designing environmentally friendly buildings and complexes, principles of designing buildings that minimize environmental impact, use renewable materials, and employ efficient technologies. It concerns green building materials, life cycle, insulating properties, and the impact on users health. The assistant professor should have the ability to inspire students to take eco-friendly actions that engage local communities and promote sustainable development. Duties include lectures and exercises in Building Law (within the scope of architectural qualifications) and EU law - Taxonomy and Circular Economy, as well as Economics and Entrepreneurship in the Design Process. Full-time - 240 teaching hours, along with organizational and research tasks in the field of architecture and urban planning.

Requirements

Skills/Qualifications

Basic requirements:

  1. completion of higher education and obtaining a professional title of Master of Science in Architecture or an equivalent title;
  2. possession of a doctoral degree;
  3. very good knowledge of English (or another foreign language) to a degree sufficient to freely conduct lectures and seminars
  4. academic profile related to the scientific specialisation of the Department/Unit, in particular concerning pro-environmental design, shaping sustainable development, resilience and adaptation of built-up areas to climate change, as well as urban agriculture and modern production in urban areas, as well as issues related to construction law to the extent necessary to obtain architectural qualifications and EU law, including Taxonomy and circular economy in the construction sector. Also in the field of Construction Economics and Entrepreneurship,
  5. information on professional experience, including a description of the scope of duties performed

In addition

  1. knowledge and application of innovative teaching skills (Problem-Based Learning, Design Thinking, Blended Learning)
  2. experience and knowledge of issues related to cooperation with the socio-economic environment;
  3. organisational skills and experience in organising scientific conferences, workshops, competitions;
  4. experience in teaching in Polish and English (min. 5 years)
  5. experience in cooperation in interdisciplinary expert and research teams and in scientific publications of multi-centre (inter-university and international) research teams of authors

Specific Requirements

An additional advantage will be presenting a personal vision of teaching architecture students – an idea of what it will involve and how it can complement and integrate an interdisciplinary approach to science.
