Basic responsibilities and obligations
Research responsibilities
- conducting research in the broad field of psychology of emotions and motivation;
- managing research and development projects and obtaining funding for research from Polish and foreign public institutions with the support of the Faculty of Psychology staff;
- publishing research results in peer‑reviewed journals and monographs listed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education;
- popularizing research findings;
Teaching responsibilities
- conducting classes (also in English) in the fields of psychology of emotions, motivation, experimental psychology, statistics, and methodology;
- providing teaching and organizational support for the emerging research specialization;
- providing statistical and methodological consultations for students and faculty;
- maintaining documentation of teaching activities in accordance with national and international accreditation requirements;
- improving academic teaching skills.
Organizational responsibilities
- involvement in the organizational affairs of the Faculty (including work on committees and working groups);
- involvement in research and development projects, organizing and co‑organizing national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops;
- participation in international accreditation processes and national reporting of research and teaching activities.
- Fulfilment of the requirements set out in Article 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, consolidated text)
- PhD in psychology
- Appropriate and documented research competencies and academic achievements in the field of psychology of emotions and motivation
- Documented experience in teaching, including in the area of psychology of emotions and motivation
- Documented experience in organizational activities for higher education institutions
- Very good command of English, both spoken and written
- Iinternational experience
In addition, we expect
Additionally, the following will be considered as bonuses:
- Experience in initiating and preparing original and innovative teaching activities;
- Experience in conducting teaching in English
If hired, we expect the University of Warsaw to be the primary workplace for the successful candidate.
Criteria for the assessment of candidates in a competition
Applicants must meet all formal requirements of the competition. The selection committee will evaluate:
- candidates scientific achievements in terms of quantity and quality (60 points)
- candidates teaching achievements in terms of quantity and quality (20 points)
- candidates organizational and practical achievements in terms of quantity and quality (20 points)
The candidates final score awarded by each committee member will be the sum of the points obtained by the candidate in the above areas.
According to § 5, Section 15 of Order No. 27 of the Rector of the University of Warsaw, the competition is won by the candidate who receives the highest number of points, but not less than 60% of the maximum number of points. In the event of a tie, the higher points obtained in the evaluation of scientific achievements will be decisive.

- documents confirming your experience and achievements in teaching in higher education, including teaching in the field of psychology of emotions and motivation (including grades from student surveys),
- documents confirming your research collaboration, including international collaboration,
- documents confirming your organizational activities for higher education institutions,
- documents confirming activities that may be relevant to the Competition Committee,
- presentation of plans related to teaching and research work at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Warsaw, if employed,
- a letter of recommendation with contact details for the recommender,

Stages of competiton
The competition consists of the following stages:
- Stage I - formal evaluation of documents,
- Stage II - substantive evaluation on the basis of submitted documents,
- Stage III - interview with selected candidates, - the candidates with the highest scores in stage II will be invited to an interview at least 5 days in advance; the interview will take place in person in front of the competition committee;
- Stage IV - final evaluation of competence, experience and scientific achievements,
- Stage V - adjudication of the competition and announcement of results.
Anticipated date and method of notification of the competition outcomes
The competition will be decided by March 31, 2026. Information about the competition results will be sent to candidates by email by April 2, 2026.
