Offer Description

Institute of Chemical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Gliwice, Poland invites applicants for a full-time employment as an assistant professor in the field of microreactors and catalysis. We are looking for a candidate having a PhD degree in Engineering and technology or Natural science.

The beneficiary will be involved in research related to the development of new catalytic systems for the synthesis of organic compounds, monolithic microreactors for the synthesis of fine chemicals, and nanostructured composite materials for sorption and catalysis, and preparation of manuscripts.

The successful applicant should have the following skills:

• very good knowledge of issues related to chemical processes, including chemical reactor engineering, chemical kinetics, organic compound synthesis
• previous hands‑on experience with laboratory techniques: nitrogen adsorption, thermogravimetry, FTIR, UV–Vis and NMR spectroscopy, and gas chromatography, and the ability to interpret test results

Moreover, candidate must be the author/co‑author of at least 4 scientific papers, including at least 2 in a scientific journal publishing peer‑reviewed articles, included in the most widely read international scientific journal databases within the 5 years, and a manager/contractor in a national or EU research project or in research for business entities.

The possibility of permanent full time employment after one year.
