The person hired for this position will lead a research team in the behavioral properties of large AI models (such as large language models (LLMs), with a particular focus on their persuasive capabilities, susceptibility to generating misinformation, and reproduction of toxic or biased content. Key responsibilities will include:
Designing and conducting experiments to assess the capacity of AI models to produce manipulative, misleading, or harmful textual outputs;
Developing metrics and evaluation protocols for detecting toxicity, bias, factual inconsistency, and cognitive distortion in model responses;
Investigating control mechanisms for mitigating undesired behaviors through prompt engineering, fine-tuning, model alignment, or data filtering techniques;
Analyzing multilingual and cross-cultural model behaviors in sensitive or high-risk communicative contexts;
Documenting research findings through scientific publications, internal benchmarks, and diagnostic reports;
Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams addressing ethical, societal, and regulatory aspects of generative AI systems;
Contributing to the preparation and execution of national and international research projects (e.g., NCN, Horizon Europe, UNESCO).
In addition, the person in this position may act as a scientific supervisor for a small team of junior researchers (1–2 people), supporting them in content analysis, experiment planning, and interpretation of results.
Employment will be financed from the project titled “Center for Credible Artificial Intelligence,” funded under the FENG MAB program (agreement no. FENG.02.01-IP.05-0058/24)

Description of scientific achievements, with particular emphasis on up to three key publications, research projects, or implementation works that best demonstrate the candidate’s expertise in research in the area of Centre for Credible AI. For each selected work, please include a brief justification for its inclusion (maximum 300 words total), e.g., the innovativeness of the approach, significance of the results, individual contribution, practical applications, or impact on further research.
An additional advantage will be a description of experience in conducting computational experiments using data generation tools, as well as any participation in interdisciplinary research and development projects.
Specific Requirements
PhD in Mathematics, Psychology, Computer Science, Life Sciences or similar field
Proven experience in research work on AI models;
Ability to conduct independent research and work in a team, including willingness to engage in interdisciplinary cooperation and support younger researchers.
Very good command of English.
