The candidate applying for the above position must meet the requirements specified in art. 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018 Law on Higher Education and Science (Dz. U. 2018, item. 1668.), in the Universitys Statute (Annex 1, 6) and Resolution No. 71 - 2024/2025 of the SGGW Senate of 31 March, 2025 regarding amendments to the Statute of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences - SGGW. Skills/Qualifications

Qualification requirements:

  • masters degree, master of engineering in forestry or an equivalent title,
  • theoretical and practical knowledge of problems related to chalanges and opportunites in forestry and silviculture in Europe,
  • experience in teaching courses in silviculture,
  • fluent in written and spoken Polish and English,
  • at least three scientific articles published in peer-reviewed journals with an impact factor (IF) on forestry/silviculture,
  • experience working on at least one research project and a secondment (a research internship) abroad (min. 1 month),
  • profound knowledge of mathematical statistics and the R programming language,
  • profound knowledge of spatial analysis software (QGIS or ArcGIS),
  • ability to use Field-Map technology,
  • ability to use the CDendro measurement software and conduct dendrochronological analysis,
  • ability to work in a team and to organize working time flexibly,
  • knowledge of the functioning of higher education institutions,
  • category B driving licensevalid within the EU,
  • the candidate should demonstrate positive personality traits, including creativity, responsibility, conscientiousness, diligence, communication skills, readiness to expand knowledge, the ability to compromise, task orientation, and analytical skills.

Specific Requirements

The duties of the candidate will include, among others:

  • conducting research and publishing results in scientific journals,
  • application for research projects,
  • conducting classes in subjects including primary issues related to silviculture under the education programs offered by the Warsaw University of Life Sciences-SGGW.

  • A declaration that the SGGW will be the primary place of employment of the candidate.
