The person employed in this position will be responsible for conducting various forms of teaching in the field of electrical engineering, circuit theory and power quality, as well as conducting scientific research in the field of methods for measuring and assessing power quality, methods for data mining from power grids and research on the use of the regulatory potential of power microgrids.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Teaching and educating students.
  • Conducting various forms of teaching in the fields of electrical engineering, electrical circuit theory, mathematical methods in electrical engineering, power quality, digital signal processing, and information technology.
  • Participating in the modification or development of new courses, creating teaching materials.
  • Participating in the preparation of applications and the implementation of programs to improve the effectiveness of education.
  • Improving qualifications and adhering to the Code of Ethics for Wrocław University of Science and Technology Employees.
  • Conducting research and development work in the field of methods for measuring and assessing electricity quality, methods for mining data on power grid parameters, and research on the utilization of the regulatory potential of microgrids, with particular emphasis on:
    • developing laboratory test benches for testing the regulatory capabilities of microgrid components,
    • creating tools in the Matlab and LabView environments for acquiring and analyzing measurement data,
    • developing algorithms and criterion quantities for assessing the integration of distributed generations with the power grid,
    • developing data preparation and mining tools for the analysis and assessment of power grid parameters, as well as data‑driven modelling.
  • Individual and team work, publishing research results in scientific journals, active participation in workshops, internships, training courses, and scientific conferences.
  • Participating in the preparation of applications for research and R&D grants, working on existing research projects, and participating in industrial and R&D projects for the economy.
  • Participation in the basic organizational activities of the Department, Faculty and University, related to research and teaching activities.

Specific Requirements

  • A professional Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Automation and Robotics, or a related field.
  • At least one year of teaching experience at a technical university in the EU, with particular emphasis on electrical engineering and circuit theory.
  • Documented scientific achievements in the disciplines of Automation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, and Space Technologies, including publications in impact factor journals related to the assessment of power grid parameters with distributed generation.
  • Documented participation in scientific or teaching training is highly desirable.
  • Participation in national or international conferences.
  • Participation in industrial or research and development teams.
  • Participation in at least one European project in the area of green energy transition and renewable energy sources.
  • Experience in laboratory work and conducting research experiments on a laboratory and semi‑technical scale.
  • Knowledge of the Matlab programming environment and specialized libraries related to data and signal analysis.
  • Knowledge of basic IT tools (office and engineering).
  • Fluent English, at least at a B2 level.
  • Polish language proficiency at a level sufficient for teaching or native Polish is required.
  • Commitment and ability to work in a team.
  • Category B driving license preferred.
  • If successful application, employment at Wrocław University of Science and Technology will be considered as the primary place of employment within the meaning of the Law on Higher Education and Science.

If a competition is won by a person who is employed under an employment relationship with another employer conducting the following activities: research, research and teaching, research and development, implementation (except for cases specified in Article 125(3) of the Act), and the employment is not expired by the date of employment at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology as the primary place of work, this person, in accordance with art. 125 sec. 1 of the Act, taking into account art. 125 sec. 2 of the Act, is obliged to obtain the Rectors consent for additional employment under an employment relationship with another employer after employing at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. If the competition is won by a person who conducts business activity, the requirement of art. 125 sec. 7 of the Act should be met.

The date of receipt of the documents is decisive. The date of receipt of application documents is considered to be 9AM CET on the day indicated in the information about the competition. Receipt of the documents from the candidate will be confirmed by the assistant/HR assistant via e-mail to the address indicated in the application.

Candidates applications will be evaluated by the Competition Committee appointed by Dean of Faculty of Electrical Engineering. After the competition procedure is closed, the applications of persons who have not been accepted for work will be returned, provided that they were sent by traditional mail. People interested in having their documents back will be able to pick them up from the assistant/HR assistant within 6 months after the competition procedure is closed, against acknowledgment of receipt.
