We are seeking an experienced Automation QA (AQA) Tech Lead with strong management and technical leadership skills. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in test automation frameworks, deep knowledge of Playwright, GitHub Copilot, and the ability to set up automation environments from scratch (0 → production). You will be responsible for designing QA automation architecture, mentoring engineers, and ensuring high-quality delivery standards across projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of test automation frameworks (preferably Playwright).
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automation testing from scratch.
  • Leverage GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted tools to accelerate automation and development productivity.
  • Define and enforce automation best practices, coding standards, and test strategies.
  • Build and manage test environments ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Act as a Tech Lead for the QA automation team, providing technical guidance and coaching.
  • Manage and mentor AQA engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
  • Drive roadmap planning, prioritization, and delivery of automation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Developers, DevOps, Product, Manual QA) to align QA strategy with business goals.
  • Own the automation architecture and define a long-term vision for automated testing.
  • Ensure automation integrates seamlessly with development and release cycles.
  • Provide technical direction in evaluating new tools, frameworks, and technologies.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of proven experience as a QA Automation Tech Lead or similar leadership role.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Playwright (or Selenium/Cypress with willingness to transition).
  • Experience in setting up automation frameworks from scratch.
  • Solid understanding of automation architecture and test design patterns.
  • Familiarity with GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted development/testing tools.
  • Strong programming skills (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments, and test management tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven experience managing or mentoring engineers in a QA automation environment.
