The Lifting Appliance section is part of the Approval Center Europe in DNV Maritime Ship Classification. We are an international and cross-location team with colleagues working in Hamburg and Gdynia.
We’re looking for a curious, agile, and motivated Junior Approval Engineer to join our Lifting Appliance team in Gdynia, Poland. You’ll be part of a close-knit group of nine highly skilled engineers working on design approval and shaping the future of our Shipboard Crane Design and Certification Standard.
In this role, you’ll get hands‑on experience with exciting tasks, including:
As an approval engineer in our unit, you will become part of a highly qualified team focusing on safety of shipboard lifting appliances, launching appliances, elevators, accommodation ladders and shipboard gangways. We perform Design Approval, Type Approval and MED/MER Certification of the above equipment.

You hold an engineering degree (MSc or BSc) in Materials Handling, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Steel Structural Engineering.
