Join our team as an Application Operations Engineer!

In your role as Application Engineer, you will be a member of an international team who are developing, maintaining and operating a new application around individual payments transactions. You will be responsible for understanding applications, data flows and their business purpose to integrate new modules, changes, or releases and responsible for the whole operations. You support various installation instances (integration/acceptance and production environment). Your main task will be to ensure processing and transport of deployment packages from development to production environments and to maintain stable operation of production. You handle incidents, problems, and changes. You communicate with developers, as well as other operation teams.

What you will be doing?

• Acting as a broker between the users side (collect, evaluate, analyze requirements for error correction enhancements) and the vendor of payments software who fulfills those requirements.
• Controlling and monitoring the decentralized Java application.
• Implementation of change requests in the production process via CI/CD pipeline.
• Assurance of uninterrupted availability of the systems and applications.
• Manual intervention in automatic processes in conjunction with the project manager or on request.
• Handling of changes/problems/incidents.
• Support the rollouts in production.

Which technology & skills are important for us?

• Good knowledge of Operating Systems: Windows Server 2016 and 2022, Windows 10, Linux.
• Good knowledge of Application Server/Servlet Engine: Tomcat.
• Good knowledge of Scheduling Systems: UC4 (ONE Automation).
• Good knowledge of SQL, Windows PowerShell, Unix Shell.
• Good knowledge of File transfer: Connect:Direct, Sterling File Gateway (SFG), UC4 File transfer.
• Good knowledge of Databases: Oracle, MS SQL Server.
• Good knowledge of Authentication Services: Kerberos, Active Directory, LDAP.
• Good knowledge of Virtualization issues: VMware.
