As a member of a small team, the Network Design Tools Engineer (NDT Engineer) is responsible for the conception, design, implementation and test of new workbench applications and functions, but also covering the maintenance/extension of existing solutions.
The software solutions provided by the NDT team are solving problems related to the planning process as well as the implementation of telecoms networks. Starting from MS-Office extensions to provide data conversion and post-processing functionalities, the range of applications also covers automatic generation of documentation drawings, API-based solutions to extend software created by other departments, development of stand-alone network design tools, as well as contribution to the development of Adtran’s network planning and optimization tools.
responsibilities :
Analysis of requirements, architecture, and structural design of new software tools
Maintenance of existing and implementation of new Java and .NET based tools
Development of unit tests and test automation
Documentation of new/modified code and test of the software
Interworking with Adtran-internal customers on international level to optimize the tools provided and supporting the global Sales Engineering community
requirements-expected :
Knowledge/experience of: Java (IntelliJ Idea) and C#/VB.NET (MS Visual Studio)
Keen desire to learn, and a demonstrable aptitude for coding
Quality consciousness for the code as well as functionality of the tools created
Language skills: At least B1 English proficiency level, German beneficial
