We are seeking a skilled API Management & Governance Architect to lead the strategic development and enhancement of enterprise-wide API governance and platform frameworks.
The person in this role will focus on establishing robust governance for internal, partner, and public APIs, ensuring uniformity, scalability, and security across the organisation’s integration landscape.
This position involves consolidating multiple API management platforms into a single strategic solution, overseeing the migration of existing APIs, customer integrations, and business processes while maintaining platform stability throughout the transition.
responsibilities :
Define and implement the enterprise API governance framework.
Review, evaluate, and enhance API standards for internal and partner APIs.
Lead the consolidation of multiple API management platforms into a unified strategic platform.
Design and guide the migration of existing APIs, customer integrations, and business flows to the target platform.
Ensure continuity and stability during platform transitions.
Establish API lifecycle management processes, including versioning strategies, documentation standards, and deprecation policies.
Enhance API security standards aligned with Zero Trust principles.
Promote consistent platform usage across development teams.
Collaborate closely with Enterprise Architects and platform teams to ensure architectural alignment.
requirements-expected :
Minimum of 10 years of experience in API architecture and API management.
Proven experience in consolidating or migrating API management platforms.
Practical experience with IBM API Connect.
Experience with at least one additional API platform such as MuleSoft or Axway.
Demonstrated experience migrating APIs, customer integrations, or business processes between platforms.
Strong knowledge of OAuth2, OIDC, token-based authentication, API lifecycle management principles, and Zero Trust security frameworks.
Extensive documentation and governance expertise.
Ability to operate effectively across multiple teams and international environments.
Excellent communication skills in English.
