Saily is a product within Nord Security that provides eSIM service for travelers and explorers. It helps to save on roaming, removes the hassle of finding local SIM cards, and protects traveler data from local internet service providers. The product is growing rapidly and with it, its team—we’re hiring competent Engineers to help us navigate this growth and ensure we’re providing the best possible value to our customers. We’re looking for an Android Team Lead to join Saily’s mobile team!
Responsibilities
- Team management of Android Engineers; contribute to the development effort for Saily for Android devices, interacting with backend REST APIs, providing feedback based on mobile needs, and collaborating with web, backend, and UX teams to build new features and enhance quality. Coordinate with Product Owners and QA/Support to ensure the Android app maintains high quality.
- Debug and resolve issues reported by users and internal testing teams.
- Be part of a growing development team with Kotlin background and QAs.
- Identify and plan to reduce technical debt.
- App performance: improve testing culture, prioritize security, and ensure smooth operation (startup, animations).
- Stay up to date with cutting-edge tools, approaches, and methodologies to ensure excellent code quality.
Core competencies
- 5+ years of professional Android experience plus leadership/managerial experience.
- Ability to communicate technical complexities to non-tech stakeholders (POs, designers, BE, Web).
- Managerial experience: performance reviews, constructive feedback, helping your team grow.
- To-do attitude: resolve blockers, break down complex tasks, build collaborative relationships, and view failures as learning opportunities.
