We are seeking a skilled Android Firmware Engineer to join our team. The person in this role will be responsible for customizing and extending the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) at the operating system level to meet specific device requirements. This position requires expertise in firmware image creation, infrastructure management for build environments, and a deep understanding of the Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) and kernel to address device-specific challenges.
responsibilities :
Customize and extend the Android source code within AOSP to fulfill device-level specifications and functionalities.
Build, sign, and deploy custom system images (ROMs) tailored to particular hardware targets.
Maintain and scale cloud-based build infrastructure, including dedicated Linux build environments, to support large-scale AOSP compilations.
Analyze and resolve device-specific bugs by working with the Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) and kernel components.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure firmware stability and performance optimization.
requirements-expected :
Proven experience with AOSP customization and firmware image creation for Android devices.
Strong knowledge of Linux-based build systems and infrastructure management.
In-depth understanding of the Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL), Android kernel, and device driver integration.
Proficiency in programming languages relevant to Android firmware development such as C, C++, and shell scripting.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex firmware and hardware interaction issues.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
