Detailed Description of Work Task:

Capacity Management Purpose:

Klients has identified undesired non-financial risks outside risk appetite related to the ability of the bank to failover and run in the event of one data centre (DC) outage due to a physical event. Klients technical teams have identified technical limitations preventing the approved 2DC Mirroring architecture from working. 2DC mirroring requires a large amount of additional capacity from our Data Centres – mainly Space, Power, and Cooling. Currently, Data Centres are at capacity, and new capacity will not be available in the size 2DC Mirroring requires. Klients is running at capacity limit for committed capacity for our Data Centers but has 20-30% potentially free capacity that can be freed up. To install the new hardware, old hardware needs to be decommissioned to free up the Power (kW). Decommissioning old hardware requires time-consuming migration of currently installed applications to the new hardware and needs to be monitored and escalated by capacity management.

We continuously manage our capacity with free-up initiatives. Klients focuses on (1) increasing efficiency, (2) maximizing existing capacity, and (3) ensuring additional capacity.

Business Analytics Person Required: To support BCCM capacity manager with:

1. Demand planning, governance setup/improvements, workshops.
2. Facilitate and execute short-term capacity free-up initiatives.
3. Facilitate and execute long-term capacity free-up initiatives.

Role Description:

This role will support BCCM WS4 capacity management project’s activities to ensure that they are delivered in a timely and appropriate manner.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Identify data sources for capacity forecast.
• Establish communication channels to coordinate capacity requests and delivery.
• Collect capacity requirements from BCCM workstreams.
• Analyze the data and prepare short and long-term forecasts.
• Plan and coordinate capacity free-up initiatives.
• Manage, monitor, and report on the progress of capacity delivery and free-up initiatives.
• Create Capacity plan overviews for discussion and approval from key stakeholders.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and interpret complex data and work in Excel.
