Job Description:
Is macroeconomics your passion? Do you want to join the EY Chief Economist team for Europe and Central Asia? Do you have strong quantitative skills and want to participate in exciting international projects? If your answer to all these questions is "YES", we invite you to apply to our team!
We are looking for a highly motivated person to support the EY Chief Economist for Europe and Central Asia (Head of the Economic Analysis Team) in macroeconomic analysis. The tasks will include, among others:
- Supporting the preparation of macroeconomic forecasts for approximately 30 economies, primarily European
- Supporting the preparation of regular presentations and reports on the macroeconomic outlook in Poland, Europe, and global economy (materials prepared primarily in English)
- Monitoring current macroeconomic events and their analysis
- Supporting the development of a forecasting model and thematic macroeconometric analysis
- Participating in client projects requiring macroeconomic and macroeconometric analysis
- Participating in other projects carried out by the Team for various industries in different countries, including economic impact assessments, analyses with the use of CGE models, tax gap and shadow economy analysis.
Expectations for the candidate for the analyst or consultant position (depending on professional experience):
- Completed undergraduate studies in economics, quantitative methods, or a similar field
- Excellent knowledge of macroeconomics, national accounts, and statistical databases (Polish and international), preferably supported by appropriate experience in conducting macroeconomic analysis
- Knowledge of econometrics/quantitative methods would be an additional advantage, primarily of macroeconomic forecasting and macroeconometrics, and then panel econometrics, input-output (Leontief) models, and CGE models
- Excellent command of English
- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to accurately and concisely describe the results of work in Polish and English
- Passion and own initiative in preparing macroeconomic analyses
