Job Purpose
Provides engineering solutions as part of an SSE project taskforce, in accordance with TechnipFMC standards, procedures, processes, schedules, and budget, with a continuous concern for quality, targets, and customer satisfaction. This role is a maternity cover position.
Job Description
- Works independently on standard projects as a reference and participates in more complex projects under supervision of more senior engineers.
- Performs calculations such as static structural, dropped object/impact, normal modes, buckling, weld/bolt strength calculations.
- Develops and validates simulation models using industry‑standard FEA/CAE tools (e.g. Ansys Mechanical, LS‑DYNA, SDC Verifier, PVP, and internal tools).
- Performs hand calculations and runs sensitivity studies for different geometries and load combinations.
- Conducts studies of piping, beam, subsea structures, and frames.
- Interprets analysis results and provides design recommendations.
- Compiles feedback presentations and technical reports.
- Cooperates globally with members from cross‑functional teams to consult and resolve design challenges.
- Mentors and supports less experienced engineers.
- Relates engineering solutions to cost and time.
Requirements
- MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Machine Design, Civil and Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of experience.
- Proficiency with ANSYS Mechanical.
- Good knowledge of material strength, free‑body diagrams, and mechanics.
- Attention to detail and thoroughness.
- Strong technical engineering skills.
- Project management skills.
- Presentation and coaching skills.
- Good communication skills, team‑player spirit, and a can‑do attitude.
- Good organizational and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team‑oriented environment.
- Good command of English.
Optional (as an Asset)
- Scripting capabilities (e.g. Python, VBA).
- Experience in APDL.
- Experience in ANSA/HyperMesh.
