Key Responsibilities

• Participate in projects in risk management, regulatory compliance and optimisation of business processes using data‑analysis methods.
• Create comprehensive analyses to identify and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
• Understand and respond to client needs while staying up‑to‑date with the latest AI and machine‑learning trends used for preventing financial crimes.
• Leverage EY.AI and EYQ virtual assistant for AI‑powered solutions, enhancing analyses, insights and innovative ideas.

Qualifications

• University degree or final‑year studies in econometrics, financial technology, computer science, data science or a related quantitative field.
• Practical competency in Python/Java/Scala and Spark, and ability to work with DataFrames.
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Highly developed analytical and problem‑solving skills; attention to data quality.
• High standard of integrity and confidentiality.

Ideal Additional Experience

• Foundations of AI/ML (e.g., linear/logistic regression, decision trees, train/test split, cross‑validation).
• Exposure to AML/Financial Crime topics: Transaction Monitoring, KYC/KYB, Sanctions Screening.
• Experience with cloud analytics (preferably Azure/Databricks) and distributed processing (e.g., Spark).
• Familiarity with containerisation (e.g., Docker) and common data/BI tools (Power BI/Looker/Tableau, Jupyter/VS Code).
• Experience with other languages or stacks (R/SAS/VBA) as a plus.
• Basic familiarity with Git.
• German language skills as a plus.

Previous Experience

• University degree in mathematics, physics, computer science, economics/econometrics or other STEM disciplines.
• Academic projects completed within student associations or scientific circles.

Additional Value

• Knowledge of economics, finance, or accounting.
• Prior professional experience in banking, risk management, or data analytics.
• Experience in building or validating quantitative models.
