Having found strong traction with our customers and observing rapidly changing AI tech capabilities, Zowie is now seeking a dynamic and product-minded Backend Engineer to join our Growth Team.

What youll do:

As a member of this team, you will be at the forefront of our product innovation efforts, including hands-on work on mission-critical GenAI use cases, and will work directly with one of our co-founders - Maciej Ciołek. Your primary mission will be to explore new product ideas in collaboration with our customers, striving to understand their needs and uncover business value for them. 

This is a unique opportunity to greatly impact Zowie as a whole. Our ability to innovate and rapidly test new ideas not only keeps us ahead of our competitors but also ensures that we continue to provide cutting-edge solutions to our customers. In recent months, weve spearheaded the adoption of GenAI, resulting in groundbreaking products like e.g. Hello (real-time voice interactions with visual aids), or AI Insights (Agentic AI that delivers answers to any questions related to customer interactions).

• Proactive, autonomous execution - We don’t wait for meetings or permission. If you’re stuck, you unblock yourself, pull context from the org, and move forward.
• Tiger team energy -  Small team. Massive autonomy. We ship in days, not months.
• LLM fluency - We go well beyond simple prompting or Copilot autocompletions. We use AI tools to implement production LLM-powered applications… and that requires a critical understanding of the limits of LLMs and what they’re actually doing.
• Figure-it-out mindset - This is not a calm, heavily structured environment. Priorities shift fast. Context switching is normal. If ambiguity energizes you, you’ll thrive here.
• Extreme ownership - Full end-to-end responsibility - from spotting the problem to shipping the solution.

Ideally, youll bring with you:

• Product acumen, ownership, and focus on value delivered to customers
• Ability to use AI coding tools as part of daily development, not just experimentation
• Strong fundamentals in software engineering (architecture, testing, debugging, code review)
• High awareness of when good enough is better than perfect
• 3+ years of experience with Python
• High proficiency in English

It will be awesome if you have experience with:

• Deploying and maintaining LLM-based production systems
• NoSQL and SQL
• Kafka or other message brokers
• GraphQL
• Docker Swarm / Kubernetes
