Advanced Manufacturing Engineer

What can you expect?

At Adient we are proud to offer hybrid working to our employees which involves being able to work remotely for up to 5 days per week.

What will your responsibilities be?

1. Execution of capacity planning
2. Determine and analyze process steps, assemblies, and outputs
3. Selection of the appropriate production technologies and methods
4. Process development and assembly sequencing (process flow chart in Visio) for new programs
5. Use industrial engineering methods to determine the process and/or assembly time (MTM)
6. Manufacture feasibility analysis (DFA/DFM) and conducting of Process-FMEAs (Scio-System) as well as participation at Design-FMEAs on new products
7. Perform cost analysis of product and process alternatives (investments and assembly time)
8. Write process specifications and make recommendations regarding ergonomic improvements
9. Write specifications for manufacturing equipment and make recommendations for equipment procurement
10. Work with SD-Teams to complete product launches & execute Product and Process industrialization together with the SD-Team at dedicated plants
11. Improvement strategies: Participate and/or lead activities for manufacturing footprint analysis, continuous improvement of new and/or ongoing manufacturing process, and lean manufacturing implementation

Which qualifications are we looking for in potential employees?

1. Successfully completed studies in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering
2. Experience in the automotive industry and production environment
3. Metal Processes and Equipment knowledge (Stamping / Pressing / Joining Technologies like Laser-, ARC Welding & Assembling)
4. Experience in Process & Equipment selection & procurement
5. Experience in Product industrialization / -execution
6. Experience and knowledge in Production Systems (TPS), Lean manufacturing, and Time Studies (MTM)
7. Experience and knowledge in GD&T
8. Experience and knowledge in FMEA and Control Plan (I-, S-,C Characteristics)
9. Statistical knowledge (SPC, MSA, Capability Studies)
10. Strong computer and manufacturing simulations skills
