Advanced Lead Engineer - Additive Process Simulation
At GE Aerospace, we are developing advanced technologies for aircraft engines, including additive manufacturing simulation. As an Advanced Lead Engineer – Additive Process Simulation, you will lead the development, validation, and implementation of DMLM simulation methods to predict build‑time stress and crack formation in aeronautical components, and optimize production workflows.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise for full‑scale project management, including planning, risk management, and effective communication.
- Interface with cross‑functional teams to enhance additive simulation approaches.
- Lead the design, execution, and improvement of additive processes, ensuring rigorous build‑simulation stress prediction and crack analysis.
- Promote best practices for additive process simulation throughout the organization.
- Collect, analyze, and document data; communicate results to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a STEM field (e.g., Mechanical Design, Mechatronics, Materials) with significant experience in FEM analyses.
- Proven experience in FEM analysis (crack prediction, static, modal, creep).
- Exposure to metal additive manufacturing and its challenges.
- Experience with additive build‑simulation packages (Simufact, Amphyon, Netfabb Simulation, Panx, etc.) is preferred.
- Track record of completed engineering projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in written, oral, and presentation skills; ability to communicate at multiple levels.
- Project management skills; programming skills are a plus.
