Advanced Lead Engineer - Additive Process Simulation

At GE Aerospace, we are developing advanced technologies for aircraft engines, including additive manufacturing simulation. As an Advanced Lead Engineer – Additive Process Simulation, you will lead the development, validation, and implementation of DMLM simulation methods to predict build‑time stress and crack formation in aeronautical components, and optimize production workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise for full‑scale project management, including planning, risk management, and effective communication.
  • Interface with cross‑functional teams to enhance additive simulation approaches.
  • Lead the design, execution, and improvement of additive processes, ensuring rigorous build‑simulation stress prediction and crack analysis.
  • Promote best practices for additive process simulation throughout the organization.
  • Collect, analyze, and document data; communicate results to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a STEM field (e.g., Mechanical Design, Mechatronics, Materials) with significant experience in FEM analyses.
  • Proven experience in FEM analysis (crack prediction, static, modal, creep).
  • Exposure to metal additive manufacturing and its challenges.
  • Experience with additive build‑simulation packages (Simufact, Amphyon, Netfabb Simulation, Panx, etc.) is preferred.
  • Track record of completed engineering projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in written, oral, and presentation skills; ability to communicate at multiple levels.
  • Project management skills; programming skills are a plus.
