Actuarial Transformation Lead (Expert)

Your responsibilities

  • Lead change initiatives impacting actuarial/finance data, systems and reporting, ensuring readiness and controlled implementation.
  • Translate business needs into clear requirements, delivery plans and measurable outcomes across F&A scope.
  • Own impact analysis for planned changes (process, data lineage, reporting, controls), and drive resolution of gaps/risks.
  • Build and maintain documentation of in-scope data, tools and processes (definitions, calculations, mappings, workflows, process maps).
  • Define, manage and evidence key controls for data, reports and tooling in line with internal control frameworks and actuarial standards.
  • Plan and execute UAT and solution validation (including compatibility testing), coordinating defects, remediation and sign-off.
  • Deliver tactical fixes where needed to protect BAU while longer-term solutions are developed and deployed.
  • Ensure structured handover to BAU teams, including training, documentation and post-go-live support model.
  • Develop/oversee ETL and data transformation solutions (e.g., Python / SQL / VBA) and support automation initiatives.
  • Drive targeted process optimisation and automation across actuarial/finance data workflows.
  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to align dependencies, timelines and technical integration.
  • Represent the function in wider programmes/forums, ensuring alignment with peer teams and enterprise standards.

Employer requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant actuarial experience.
  • Strong insurance-sector experience is essential (life/non-life, pricing/reserving/capital/reporting - any mix accepted).
  • Proven track record delivering actuarial change/transformation programmes and/or data governance initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of actuarial models, finance systems interfaces, and data quality/control concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL/data transformation using Python and SQL (VBA/Power BI as strong plus).
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks) and enterprise actuarial tooling; modelling platform exposure is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to structure complex problems into actionable workstreams.
  • Confident working in project environments with multiple stakeholders; able to challenge constructively and drive decisions.
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken), able to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences.
  • Proactive, adaptable and collaborative; comfortable operating with ambiguity and shifting priorities.
