How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

For the local accounting team in Kraków, Poland, we are looking for a highly capable project accountant to provide the Group with project-related accounting support. As a Project Accounting Specialist, you will report directly to the Chief Accountant located in Poland and manage project-related matters from a finance perspective including incoming invoices and bills partial processing. This role is dedicated to the German business mainly, with partial involvement in the Polish business and is located in Kraków (not BSC). To be successful in this role, you should possess extensive experience in accounting and the ability to provide project managers, CFO, Board Members, and finance teams with accurate financial information in a timely manner. Your duties will also include active support in the setup and structuring of a new project from a technical and operational point of view, reviewing budgets in the area of contract values and commitments of the budget positions from a cost perspective, man-hours/staffing verification, current commitments to the PO as well as recurring meetings with other departments (controlling, cost control, finance, project management, commercial). Additionally, you will be responsible for the final settlements of the closed projects and preparing financial analysis and book entries related to the monthly long-term contracts reconciliations (IFRS15 – previously IAS11).

Your key responsibilities in the Project Accounting Specialist role will include:

  • Providing project-related accounting support to the Group stakeholders including CFO/Project Manager Finance/Chief Accountant or other project managers of the German entity;
  • Reviewing budgets related to the contracts;
  • Preparing valuation of the long-term contracts on a monthly basis with necessary analysis and reconciliations;
  • Providing technical setup of the project structure in the SAP for new projects;
  • Preparing data for the month-end closing and year-end closing including long-term contracts valuation;
  • Active support in financial closings including external financial audits;
  • Monitoring and preparing necessary provisions and accruals for the projects;
  • Monitoring project life cycle;
  • Updating contract system setups according to the change orders;
  • Strong cooperation with other finance and project management departments in the area of the project-related matters.

Are you a MATCH?

  • At least Bachelors Degree in finance/accounting;
  • At least 2 years accounting experience with long-term customer projects in a similar position;
  • Proficiency in accounting systems, such as SAP;
  • Advanced proficiency in managing general ledgers, journal entries, and account reconciliations;
  • Ability to support preparation of project budgets, financial forecasts, and analysis;
  • Excellent English, German would be a huge asset;
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration.
